3 x 3 Trailing Arms with Bus Bearing Carriers
4130 chrome-moly tubing construction.
The bearing carriers in all of our trailing arms are CNC machined to exact specifications from 4140 billet steel. Our bus-style bearing carriers use the larger '68 - '71 bus bearings. Like the early factory bearing carriers, snap rings retain the bearings at each end. The early (long) or late (short) IRS bus stub axles work in these carriers.
These arms are designed to fit into a stock IRS pan.
We can weld the bearing carriers in at different camber angles upon request.
3 x 3 arms are 3 inches longer and 3 inches wider than stock bug trailing arms. When a VW bus transaxle is used in a stock VW IRS pan, along with Porsche 930 CV joints, typically 20¼ inch long drive axles are used with these arms.
Mounts are provided to attach disc brake calipers (with built-in e-brake) for those who wish to have an e-brake in their off-road vehicle. Avery's can provide these calipers and the rotor setup to match for wide five VW pattern (205 mm). Avery's can also supply all of the bushings, bearings, seals, axles and CV's for your project.
The trailing arms weigh 21 pounds each.
These trailing arms are designed by off road racers and are completely built in the United States.
